Unfinished or Linax-treated glued-laminated decking

Durable, strong, and beautiful form the foundation of Lamtech's glued-laminated decking. With a low moisture content, approximately 14 percent, and sturdy pine as the raw material, there is less risk that Lamtech's glued-laminated decking will warp or crack after installation. Instead, you can rest assured that with a two-component adhesive and meticulous manufacturing process, you will receive a glued-laminated decking that withstands the elements, including water from pool edges. You can obtain both unfinished and Linax-impregnated glued-laminated decking from our production line. A wider decking enhances the aesthetics of the deck while simplifying and streamlining installation.

What is linax-treated decking?

Linax-treated decking is impregnated with a copper-based agent according to NTR class AB standards, and subsequently boiled in hot linseed oil under vacuum, requiring minimal maintenance. The first maintenance is done after 5 years. Linax is an environmentally friendly alternative highly suitable for extreme climate conditions, and has shown excellent results in moisture repellency tests. We impregnate decking in brown and gray colors. The decking has a smooth side and a grooved side. The smooth side is the B-side and may have marks from straws, which will disappear over time. The gray shade may appear green initially, but fades to a more natural tone when exposed to UV light.

What can laminated timber decking be used for?

Laminated timber decking is a versatile wood product found in most suburban gardens, condominiums, outdoor environments, and recreational spaces. Laminated timber decking is perfectly suited for constructing decks, laying beautiful balcony floors, building sun decks, and providing a low-maintenance pool deck. Or to give the company's outdoor patio a beautiful resting deck. Lamtech's laminated timber decking is manufactured in a wood production that is based on solid wood knowledge and manual monitoring. This means that throughout the process, continuous checks are made of the lamellae and the wood raw materials in order to produce a wood product that lasts over time. Parts that do not meet the requirements are removed from the process, ensuring that we maintain our high standards of quality for all deliveries.

Is there laminated timber decking with a unique design?

Yes. The market has a wide range, but if you are looking for decking that is both easy to install and beautiful, Lamtech is the best option. Our laminated timber decking is wider than most, with a width of 215 millimeters and a thickness of 34 millimeters, giving you a product that is easy to install yet provides an exclusive and unique look. Additionally, it includes grooves on one side, allowing you to create your own design on the deck. The grooves also reduce slipperiness in rainy or wet conditions, such as around a pool or if the decking is used as a pier. Here you can see examples of how laminated timber decking can become a beautiful deck.

Which decking is best to choose?

There are advantages and disadvantages to all types of decking materials. Opting for maintenance-free options, such as composite decking, typically involves the presence of plastic materials in the product. For us, laminated timber decking that is made in Sweden, from Swedish timber, and manufactured in a craftsman's factory, is a decking and timber product that can compete. By choosing timber with low moisture content, you get a deck where the risk of boards warping, cracking, or bending is minimal. This reduces the need for repairs and premature replacement of decking components.

It's also important to remember that even treated timber decking requires maintenance sooner or later. Investing in durable, high-quality timber means you get decking that will last long, and even longer if maintained regularly. In many cases, a pure high-quality timber product can outlast a treated one with lower timber quality, especially if the laminated timber decking is regularly oiled. At Lamtech, carpenters, construction companies, and landscaping firms can order both linax-treated laminated timber decking in brown and gray, and untreated laminated timber decking where the timber maintains high quality and low moisture content.
